Monkey’s Tweaks

Hey! This mod was made with the intention to speed up the flow of the game. From slightly more infected to adjusting stat gains. And a few changes to help with the more tedious things.
Took a lot of inspiration from mods that were made near the game launch and then sadly left to become unusable/buggy.

V.3 Changes
Removed the Purchasable PK Crossbow & Bolts mod. (Out of respect to the mod author I have removed this from my data pak. I didn’t make any custom edits to the files that made this possible, so it doesn’t feel right using it. You can and should download this and use it alongside my own though. No messing about needed just 2 seperate data packs. May be added back in the future however, depends if I make any custom edits to those specific files.)
Blunt weapons now have a higher chance of proccing the XRAY effect.
Infected grab attack is now faster to escape from.
Dart/Dash now uses slightly less stamina.
Reduced flashlight instensity. (Overtuned it in my original edit.)
Adjusted the binoculers to have an even faster aquire time.

I did have this mod ready to ship a little while ago, however TL released the new DLC and it broke it. If anything it was a blessing in disguise. I have now updated the mod to now work with the DLC. So it seems to be working with 1.7.2, the initial Bloody Ties DLC drop.

To be clear, this has been tested on Normal difficulty & only in Old Villedor. So im not sure how this will interact with NG+ and other difficulties. In theory it should work fine, however because this game doesnt have official modding support, you never know.

The following changes were made to speed up the flow of the game, not to just become OP asap.

Now to the meat & bones, the adjustments:
Adjusted the durability loss of weapons on hit. Should now be roughly half.
Overhauled move speed and jump heights. Move faster and jump higher. Some parkour actions have been adjusted to look less jaring alongside these changes.
Stamina has been partially overhauled. You will now regen stamina slightly faster in combat, and faster whilst out of combat.
Dart/Dash now uses slightly less stamina.
Paraglider consumes slightly less stamina.
Overhauled XP gain in Combat & Parkour. Leveling up should now be faster. Night XP should now be more rewarding to incentivise playing into the night.
Adjusted the pricing on all blueprint upgrades. Now has a more linear increase, rather than an exponential one. The final upgrade is no longer grindy.
Most lootable containers, including bodies, should now be guaranteed to give a drop. Also increased the amount of items dropped by roughly 2x (Didn’t change the weapon drop rate as I didn’t feel like that warrented adjusting.)
Survivor Sense has been overhauled. Instant activation, pinged items stay highlighted for 5+ minutes, also has increased range. Enemies are also highlighted but are only pinged for 20 seconds.
Binoculers have been overhauled. Longer range, near instant discovery when you find the sweet spot
Inhibitor’s will now be highighted on your map, compass and game world when you are nearby/discovered them.
The spawn density of infected has been tweaked. Should be slightly more on the streets. Indoors have been left untouched.
Some QTE events have had their animation reduced or outright removed. Less waiting around.
Flashlight and UV have increased lighting radious and have a more intense light.
Valuables now have 2x the selling price.
Overhauled the dismemberment system. Now more likely to crush or cut limbs. Most weapons have a 0.4 chance, has been adjusted to 0.6.
You can now block throwables and projectiles from the start.
All lockpicking tiers now have a wider turn radius. Also the sweetspot is wider.
Blunt weapons now have a higher chance of proccing the XRAY effect.
Infected grab attack is now faster to escape from.
I use the Purchasable PK Crossbow & Bolts mod aswell. Now to be downloaded seperately out of respect to the author.

I still plan on making more adjustments, like tweaking the grappling system. That will be done in the future though. I just wanted to get the this version out.

Some of these tweaks may be adjusted further in the future. Some seem a little bit too strong, not sure how they will feel going into endgame.

As a PSA to people that don’t know much about modding this game. 2 mods can’t interact with the same file. It will either cause problems or one of the files wont be used. This mod touches many files. With that being said, a lot of mods will not work with this mod unless you manually merge both files into one.
